JOB PURPOSE:

The Regulatory Specialist shall focus on the research & review of domestic and international regulations to comply with both product  and packaging pertaining to packaging mandatories and the acceptability of the product information to labeling requirements of country of destination.  Works in close coordination with Food and Nutrition  Research Specialist to ensure the overall  compliance of packaging to market standards.

Acts as a Liaison Officer with Regulatory Agencies.  Handles the regulatory transactions with FDA in relation to certificate of product registration, license to operate, sales promo / bundling permit, and involves in the internal audit / inspection of regulatory agencies in relation to market access.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Ensure the accuracy on the labeling requirements of packaging in terms of product nutrition facts, ingredients, claims and packaging mandatories, and that the packaging must comply with the labeling regulation of country destination requirements.
• Ensure timely application/renewal of LTO, Certificate of Product Registration, and other required certificates.
• Must have an updated knowledge of the procedure and requirement needed for the application/renewal of LTO, CPR, and other required certificates if needed.
• Participate in the internal audits that involves regulatory agencies with relevance to regulations like FDA, Halal and Kosher
• Compile and maintain regulatory documentation databases or systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of BS Food Science, Nutrition Science, Biochemistry, Chemistry or any related field;
• With at least 1-2 years’ experience in food industry, government agency or with regulatory background. 
• Familiarization to Food Safety and Labeling & Nutrition Regulations (Domestic/Foreign)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, interpersonal & communication skills, planning and organizing skills;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
