Job Overview: As a Quality Assurance Officer specializing in food technology, you will be responsible for ensuring that all food products produced in our commissary meet the highest standards of quality and safety. Your role will involve monitoring and evaluating food preparation processes, conducting inspections, and implementing quality assurance practices to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and procedures for food production in the commissary.
  • Monitor and evaluate all stages of food production, from raw material sourcing to final product delivery, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and tests on ingredients, in-process products, and finished goods to verify quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Analyze and interpret test results, prepare detailed reports, and provide recommendations for quality improvements.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and production staff to address and resolve any quality or safety issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, including HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and other relevant standards.
  • Train and support staff on quality assurance procedures, food safety practices, and proper handling techniques.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of quality assurance activities, including records of inspections, tests, and corrective actions.
  • Conduct internal audits and inspections to ensure adherence to company policies, food safety regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to keep quality assurance practices current and effective.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in quality assurance within the food industry, preferably in a commissary or large-scale food production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, quality assurance procedures, and industry standards.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Proficiency in using quality control tools and software.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across different teams.
  • Certification in quality management or food safety (e.g., HACCP, ISO) is highly desirable.
