Job Description
- Review and update SOPs and product specifications, laboratory methods and work instructions, and good laboratory practices. Perform routine testing for raw materials, in-process samples, environmental and water samples, and finished goods.
- Isolate and identify pathogens & microbial contaminants.
- Highlight non-conformance to the management in a timely manner.
- Qualify each lot of produced culture media and test kits before using them in any microbial analysis.
- Maintain ATCC BSL I and II reference cultures and monitor the sterility of Biosafety Level I & Biosafety Level II Laboratory
- Monitor and replenish consumables inventory and raise through SAP to always ensure the availability of stock.
- Supervise calibration schedules of all equipment.
- Conduct sampling in various sites as needed. Make sure that all samples collected from the site are properly labeled and identified.
- Conduct verification of all the microbiological methods used in the laboratory by conducting method verification experimental procedures and derive a conclusive action plan to complete new method implementation.
- Perform experimental studies on different sample matrices to determine the correct diluent and dilution for different types of food matrix (Sample preparation and pooling assessment).
- Participate in the P test as per the schedule and obtain analytical results within the satisfactory range of Z score.
- Conduct pathogen environmental monitoring, equipment swabbing, and air sampling inside the production area.
- Undergo internal/external training programs which the organization finds suitable for the nature of the activity performed.
- Carry out microbiological analysis of water, wastewater, food, and environmental samples as per the standards.
- Maintain good housekeeping in the testing area.
- Ensure the adoption of necessary safety measures while performing the test.
- Perform Internal Quality Check samples assigned by the Quality Department.

Qualifications
- Graduate of a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology or Biology Major in Microbiology
- With at least 2 years work experiences relevant to the position
- PAM Registered Microbiologist / Registered Medical Technologist / Certified Microbiologist / Registered Food Technologist
- With knowledge of ISO 17025 and other relevant standards related to laboratory practices.
- Knowledgeable in laboratory related regulations and safety guidelines such as Good Laboratory Practices
